This logo was much easier to do via the sketch than working it out in Illustrator but I am pleased with how similar it came out. I played with the idea to add color but loved the idea of simple black and white. I feel like it helped me make something as complex as the brain and what areas I need it function simple in a way. The complexity of someone being the center or “heart” of your brain in what I thought about. The feeling that it is my brain and I could put anything as my center but it continues to be my family and friends that I think about as I go throughout my day. Everything else is centered around my core. I really did not have outside inspiration for this logo. It was what I felt like represented every person. Your head and your heart are the two things that make up who you are. Anything outside those two are traits but not the essence of you. Now everyone will have a different balance but I like to think I balance my life like I did this picture. There are parts that seem like they take more time but the importance of them is smaller whereas there are parts that I might spend less time but that mean more. I used the elliptical tool, the line tool, the pencil tool, the paintbrush tool, and the eraser tool. This logo was one that took quite a few attempts I must admit. There were quite a few restarts before this came together. I wanted the logo to be balanced, focused, thoughtful, and simple. I think it will cause those that see it to think about what their brain would look like if they had the template to do their own. Sometimes you can see something in your mind but it see it come together in a finished product was amazing. With that being said, I think “my brain” is amazing and so is yours.
