Draft Collage

My collage is special to me because it includes the people I love. When coming up with an idea of what I wanted to do that would include “about me” I couldn’t help but think of all the people who depend on me to be my best. As a woman I get pulled in many directions because I have to be a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, employee, confidant, and so many other roles. I have to balance all my roles and try to give my all in each one but these people are the closest to my heart. I often think about these people when I should relax and just be. That is indicated by the beach scene at the base because at my base I want to relax and just enjoy some quiet time. When you wear a lot of hats relaxation ends up being time to think about what you could have done, what you should have changed, and what you need to do for those closest to you. In this collage I included pictures of the people in life that consume my thoughts during that quiet time. My mom, my daughter, my husband, my sister, and my nieces. Like this collage they are all different layers in my life that fit together to make dreamy picture. I softened the edges because I wanted a more delicate look to convey an idea of thoughtfulness.  I wanted to big picture of me to more transparent because the people in this collage allow me to be transparent in how I think and feel with them.  The smaller pictures that are included show happy times in my life so I used the eraser to make the edges look more like clouds because it also represents thoughts happy memories. Like the many different relationships each layer had to be worked on separately before coming together for the big picture.
